Must see dramas!!!

Must Watch Korean Dramas!!!
Attention:  to the new and the not so new to Korean dramas
My first exposure to Korean dramas was not until 2003. During that time, I was more into Taiwanese drama series.  But just like any other K-drama and Kpop fans out there, it was inevitable that I got hooked on K-dramas.  Indeed the popularity of K-drama and Kpop culture has crossed all barriers.  Nowadays both Koreans and non-Koreans follow K-dramas, films, and of course Hallyu stars.  So I thought maybe some of you who are new or not so new to Korean dramas would like to know what K-drama series are worth watching specially during off days.  By that, I mean those days when your latest K-drama shows are not airing.

While making the list, I realized how much dramas I have watched already and yet I’m still wanting for more.  It’s a good thing that Cheongdamdong Alice is still on and of course The King of Dramas which will end this week.  Aside from that, Flower Boy Next Door is something I am looking forward to watching this January.  I remember those times when there isn’t any that caught my attention and the feeling was awful.  I just didn’t feel complete knowing there was nothing to watch in the afternoon after I came home from an exhausting day at work. Anyways, I don’t want to focus on me but the dramas I have seen in the past, some of them I watched twice or more and I hope all of you out there would share with me what you think.

The lists are classified according to genre and are arranged according to the year they were broadcasted.  I also ranked them from my most favorite to least per year.

What's coming up this 2013?

I always check out www.koreandrama.org for any updates on what K-dramas are coming soon.  Flower Boy Next Door is a Kdrama to look forward to this 2013.  It will start airing in January and it is a romantic comedy about a girl, Go Dok Mi (Park Shin Hye) who is like a ′city Rapunzel′ who never ventures outdoors that has her charms that can shoot straight into a man’s heart.  She

Fashionista part 1

Winter Ensemble
Because winter fashion doesn’t have to be boring!
Just a side note:  I decided to post this under this blog because, I'd like this to be the introduction to my K-dramas fashion articles in the near future. Aside from drama reviews, I will be writing articles about fashion in K-dramas and which dramas shows or showed some really serious fashionistas.  Enjoy reading!
Winter outfit doesn’t have to be your typical boring black everything.  Just by adding one lighter color to your get-up can make your otherwise gloomy day brighter.

Drama Review: The King of Dramas Episode 16

The King of Dramas
Episode 16

Anthony finally admitted not just to himself that he likes Lee Go Eun but also to Sung Min Nah who was waiting for his answer regarding them going back together.

Sung Min Nah was really upset.  To put how she feels into words would be exorbitant; her eyes already professed her disappointment and pain.  Everything was written on her face.

Drama Review: The King of Dramas Episode 15

King of Dramas
Episode 15: The Turning Point
Finally Anthony Kim asked Lee Go Eun if she likes him.  To me this is more like him trying to substantiate his suspicion that she has feelings for him and at the same time affirm his own feelings towards her.  Just like a man is validating his feelings for a girl by checking what he’d feel once the girl admits that she likes him.  That’s why he even said, “But then, there is no way you would.”

My Favorite Kdramas of All Time

My Favorite Dramas of All Time
In the years that I have been watching Korean dramas, I have become so fond of some them that I ended up watching them several times when there aren’t any dramas worth watching.  Of course from where I live I can only depend on Viki.com.  It’s not that there are no other websites but I like Viki.com because they don’t have a whole lot of commercials, the quality of the videos are really good and they’re free.   The plot matters a lot to me as much as the acting of the actors and actresses in the series.  As I am putting all my thoughts together about my favorites of all time, some actors and actresses come to mind like Kim Sun Ah, Yoon Eun Hye,  Lee-Min Ho, Cha Seung Won, Gong Yoo and Ha Ji Won to name a few.

Taiwan Dramas vs. Kdramas?

So here's my second installment and maybe the last?  I'm not really sure...

So, as I mentioned in my first article, who doesn't remember Shan Sai's best friend in Meteor Garden?  The princess of cuteness, Rainie Yang, to me became even more popular than the main character Barbie Xu.  Alright, so maybe some of you would disagree.  MAYBE but like I said, it's my opinion.
I loved her even more after she made me cry buckets and buckets of tears while watching "Devil Beside You".  Then there was "Why Why Love" where her partner once again was Mike He who in my opinion was just lifeless in both dramas.  Thank goodness Rainie was a good enough actress

Asianovela addiction? Taiwanese vs Kdrama?

I have always wondered when I actually started liking east Asian movies and TV series.  At first, I thought It was because of Meteor Garden. Huh!  Then, one day I saw the culprit again on cable TV--- So Close.  This movie is about the two sisters that are computer hackers, assassins and espionage specialists who use their late father's secret satellite technology to give them the advantage over their rivals and law enforcement.   Interesting plot but what sticks to me even more was the Carpenters song Close to You because this song was always played in the movie every time Ai Lin (the elder sister) exits the scene right after she wiped out her target and anything that comes her way to complete here mission.  I remember thinking Shu Qi (Ai Lin) was like the prettiest action movie female lead I have ever seen.
